New Leadership Invigorates College
Hebrew College’s new senior leadership team is taking root.
Over the past four months, the college has hired vice presidents in the areas of development and marketing, and appointed a chief academic officer from within its ranks.
Rabbi Lisa Keshet (above left), former director of resource development and public relations at Zefat Academic College in Jerusalem, joined the college July 15 as vice president for institutional advancement. She will guide the college’s fundraising and alumni relations operations, collaborating with the board, president and other senior leaders to match programmatic needs with philanthropic opportunities.
Alan Sherman (above center), a senior marketing executive with extensive experience in the technology sector, joined Hebrew College in March as vice president of marketing. He leads the institution’s enrollment management and marketing and communications functions, and directs its branding and positioning strategies.
And Rabbi Michael Shire (above right), dean of the Shoolman Graduate School of Jewish Education, was appointed July 1 to assume the additional duties of chief academic officer of the college and dean of Jewish studies. He will oversee the college's various graduate academic programs and serve as the institution's academic representative to both internal and external constituencies.
Keshet, Sherman and Shire join President Daniel Lehmann and Vice President for Finance and Administration Leon Zaimes in forming the senior leadership core that guides strategic planning, sets academic and administrative policies and standards, and oversees the finances and operations of the college.
"We are fortunate to assemble, at this important time in our history, a highly talented senior team dedicated to Hebrew College's strategic vision of strengthening, growing and reimagining Jewish learning and leadership for the 21st century," Lehmann said.
