The School of Jewish Music provides students with numerous performance opportunities at Hebrew College and in the greater Boston area. Students express themselves musically through a diverse array of performing venues: solo recitals, choruses, instrumental ensembles and performances as part of Hebrew College community events.
Guest artists offer master classes, concerts and lectures, and have included Samuel Adler, Yehudi Wyner, Edwin Seroussi, Flory Jagoda and Hankus Netsky. Hebrew College is home to the acclaimed chamber choir, Kol Arev, and internationally recognized chorus-in-residence, the Zamir Chorale of Boston.
Started in 2012, Kol Arev is a music ensemble composed of students, faculty, staff and alumni of Hebrew College. Founder and Artistic Director Lynn Torgove and Music Director Amy Lieberman envision the ensemble serving as ambassadors of the School of Jewish Music and Hebrew College.

On concert stages throughout North America, Europe, and Israel, the award-winning Zamir Chorale of Boston performs music spanning thousands of years, four continents, and a variety of styles, both classical and popular. Zamir's music is enjoyed by people of all ages, religions and races. Founded in 1969 by Joshua Jacobson, one of the world's leading authorities on Jewish choral music, the group is a member of the Greater Boston Choral Consortium and is funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
Koleinu, Boston's Jewish Community Chorus (http://www.koleinu.org), is a nearly 100-member chorus of adults of all backgrounds and experience that performs Jewish choral music for audiences throughout Greater Boston. Founded in 2002 by Rev-Hazzan Scott Sokol and Larry Kozinn, its mission is to provide members an opportunity to learn, sing and perform Jewish music in a meaningful way, regardless of their religious affiliation or previous musical experience. Led by artistic director Carol Marton, Koleinu has been praised for its expression, repertoire and the high musical standards it maintains as a nonaudition chorus.
